Publishing Update: The Train Rolls On

4/30/21

The book design process is complete! Over the last 2 months, David Miles and I have been collaborating to design the book's cover, spine, back cover, and interior. This process included choosing font types, colors, and sizes as well as choosing the placement of the text on each illustration. We also worked together to create and design the book's front and back matter (copyright page, title page, author/illustrator bios, etc.) and to choose the perfect endpapers for the book. Overall, I am REALLY happy with how the book turned out! Check out a sample of the final design below:

You can preview more of the book's interior and learn about some of my favorite book details and how they came to be in my latest blog article, A Sneak Peek Inside The Train Rolls On.

What's next? I am currently preparing to launch the book in early June, so stay tuned for more updates!

Thank you all so much for your continued support- I could not do this without you!!!

The proof copies have arrived! Upon completing the design process, I submitted the book files to the printer and ordered proofs of the hardcover and paperback versions. Over the last two weeks, both proof copies have arrived, and they look amazing! After carefully reviewing them for printing and formatting errors, both versions are ready to publish! YEAH!!! This project is finally coming down the home stretch, and I hope that you are as excited as I am to see the finished product!
